BW Students Provide Free Speech Therapy

One's ability to communicate shouldn't be defined by their ability to pay. That's why Baldwin Wallace University students provide free service to more than 1,000 Northeast Ohioans annually thorough the region's only free speech and hearing clinic.

The BW Speech Clinic provides speech, language and hearing services to adults and children across Northeast Ohio. All services are provided free of charge.

Working under the supervision of licensed and certified speech-language pathologists, student clinicians from BW's communication sciences & disorders undergraduate major and speech-language pathology graduate program provide in-depth diagnostic evaluations and individualized therapy services to patients with a variety of speech, language and communication disorders.

Annually, students and staff serve more than 200 patients at the on-campus clinic and an additional 900 at community locations, including:

  • Bedford City School District
  • Generations Senior Living
  • Olmsted Falls School District
  • The Treehouse

BW students also intern at all major hospital systems and school districts in Northeast Ohio.
